Not able to connect to my machine after sitting for a few months, keep getting an error when plugging in usb drive. Not sure if an easy fix or need new controller but looking for fastest solution.

Pull up on the emergency stop. Make sure you are connected to the correct port on the pc. Make sure you have the newest driver downloads. Then restart your pc.

Assuming that you’ve done the obvious (checking all connections, emergency stop, etc…), try hooking directly to the tower. If you still have the issue, you may be in the same boat that I often fond myself (I have another chat floating out there about failure to connect).
I had a computer programmer come out and he had the same issue with his own computer and cables.
I got connected by doing several ‘hard boots’ to both the machine AND the computer.
This has been an ongoing and frustratingly - intermittent - issue for me for two years now. It does not happen all of the time. In fact, I’d say 10% or less of the time when I try to connect, it refuses to do so. And the only thing that I have found to get it connect is to turn everything off and back on. It usually connects by the third time.
