Out of Memory on large STL

Running an XCP.

I’m getting an Out of Memory error when trying to create tool paths on a very large STL. It was a small STL when I imported it, and I’m stretching it to a carving that will be 40" x 11".

Is there any way around this, or have I hit a limitation to Easel?

My computer has 8Gig ram.
Do I need more RAM in both my “designing” PC, as well as my “carving” pc?

What if I got a MS Surface Pro, with 32G of RAM?
Can I run the XCP from a Surface?
