Hi @DevinBrenneman: you have access.
Sign me up I’d like to try it
Yes - this sounds great. If your looking for more testers I’d love to be one!
I would love to be included in the testing group.
@James, @TonyGutierrez, @BruceVernham: you guys have access!
That would make easel even more useful. Any chance I could join the test I would give all kinds of feedback.
Hi, may i get access to the 2 stage cut feature?
Thanks!
I did my first two stage cut today with a 1/2" bit for roughing and a 1/8" down cut for the final. It worked pretty good and saved a ton of time.
I found that the lock motors fuction did not work though. Is it working for anyone else?
I think one improvement on the roughing pass would be to leave some excess material at the bottom of the z so the finishing pass can clean it up. My z height on the finishing bit was slightly higher so you can see the difference between the two cuts.
Other than that it was a great first try and saved a lot of time.
Update, I was thinking about that cut and some work arounds for it. When I do the bit change and set the second cut settings, I will change the depth of the cuts so they are deeper so the finishing cut will go over everything. I also had a slight issue where there were a few slivers of wood between the two cuts which might have been caused by me bumping the machine. If I told Easel that the first bit was smaller than it was, then the second cut would overlap these areas too.
Just some thoughts, I will give it a try today and report back.
Not sure what I was thinking about setting the finish cut deeper, it will only do the finish area cut. I did try (after the rough cut) setting the first bit a bit smaller to get more overlap. It worked fine but I didn’t need to because the machine didn’t move during the bit change which tells me I did bump it last time.
Thanks!
@JacobWrenn, @JonStallings: you guys have access!
@Scotts - I believe a few other people have had issues with the motor locking buttons. We’ll look into it. Thanks for the rest of your feedback about the feature.
Awesome! Thanks Jeff. I look forward to testing it out! Sounds like a huge time saver.
Hi @JeffTalbot i’d like to get on board with this too please! Separate roughing and detail cuts is an awesome idea. When do you expect it to be released as a standard feature?
@CoreyD—you now have access to the two-stage cutting feature.
If I am not too late may I please have access also, I am interested in pushing the “3D” capabilities of the Carvey and my skill?!
@EricKrohn—you now have access to the two-stage cutting feature.
Huge fan of the gcode import, I would love to try this feature out as well.
You now have access to the two-stage cutting feature.
Can I ask for this as well?
could really use it…
