When i make cuts at a set depth, it cuts a lot deeper than what i set it to.
It has already carved deep into my waste board..
It also varies in the cut settings i set it to.
I use the Z-Probe and i measured it as 19.02mm. and put it into Easel software.
When manually calibrating Z point to the material, it does the same with the variations in cutting depth.
In the attached picture, the upper pocket cut out is set to .20mm depth.
The second is set to .40mm
The third is set to .60mm
But the cut outs all vary in depth, from one side to the other as written on the material.
The last line is a cut out. This is set to 1.4mm, this is the thickness of the material, but it cut through and into the waste board.
I use Easel Pro CNC software to design and run the GCodes from.
The GCodes for $100, $101 and $102 is 800 in the Easel Machine Inspector.
I have measured the distance traveled like he did on the video. I traveled 20cm along the x and y axis and 5cm on the z axis and the measurements are good.
When i use my Z probe in Easel it goes down at touches it, but it pushes it a little to deep so the material under it flexes. When i probe using the machine only, it only touches it quick and no flex. Seems that I cant use the problem with Easel.
Have you tried to zero your z-axis with a piece of paper instead of the probe? I don’t ever use the probe. I do not find it to be accurate, and I have trust issues. lol.
I use a piece of newspaper because it is quite thin, and I lower the bit down until it is close, and then move the z down in 0.1mm increments until the paper won’t move any more, and that is where I set my zero.
I made my own probe from K&S 0.016" brass. The one I bought was a piece of junk. The surface was nowhere near level. I couldn’t figure out the thickness of it. I removed the wire from the probe I bought and soldered it to the brass. Works perfect.
Now I need to figure out why my Z axis is losing its mind before the end of the carve. It works fine in UGS. The problem is in Easel.
