Out of curiosity, those of us who have been waiting and were notified that they would be getting the $100 gift card, who have gotten those either electronic via email or physical version with their x controller? I received my x controller a week ago but got neither version of a gift card. I did send @Zach_Kaplan a message about it 7 days ago but never got a response.
Mine was in the box with the Xcontroller along with a note from them. Looked like a normal gift card like youād see for Loweās or similar.
yes, I got the note but definitely no card, I even just went and triple checked through the box/packaging to see if I missed it.

Since weāre getting more X-Controllers and X-Carves with touch plates Iām a little surprised that touch plate support isnāt even a beta feature of Easel yet - are we getting close to that being available even as a beta?

Turns out itās already a live feature. You need the correct firmware version (Grbl 1.0c) and the correct Easel Driver version (0.2.7 or newer).
I have both of those and havenāt seen any new dialog boxes or buttons - where is it?

I reported yesterday that Easel wouldnāt recognize the ātouchā during setup. I have the correct Easel driver and firmware. I talked with Mo and John I believe and gave them code that worked with the probe outside of Easel. I just tried Easel again and no luck. Any progress?
Might be time for a blog post, I know this is a feature that people have been waiting for and it sounds like very few people know about it.

Wow, what a screw up you guys have done with Easel setup. First off running Easel setup solely for the purpose of enabling the touch plate just blew away all my existing settings including the calibration settings I spent a lot of time tweaking. Fortunately I just happened to think beforehand to go into the machine inspector and note them all down, otherwise Iād be REALLY upset right now as Iām sure others will end up being sooner or later.
Also Iām assuming that since I already had homing switches enabled as well as soft limits the initial screen which tests motion in each of the axis doesnāt work - the machine wonāt move until the homing switches screen which performs a homing sequence.
And then the touch probe screen wouldnāt actually detect the touch probe contact, and just to make things extra special you donāt provide any way to get out of that screen besides touching the probe - how about a cancel button just in case???
Itās pretty clear that this was not well tested.
It sounds like I need those PMd details too because I just ran into exactly the same issue.
