30 degree v bit freezing during detail pass simulation

I am cutting a plaque for a fallen officer in my area. I got the rough pass completed and now its freezing when i go to use the 30 degree v bit for the detail pass. I originally carved it with a 60 degree v bit but some of the finer detail didn’t come through like the detailed view showed. not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hi Riley,

Easel can be painstakingly slow sometimes, especially when generating toolpaths for a small bit.

Your file is not broken. On a 3GHz machine, it took about 20 minutes to create the simulation, but it did work. Just wait longer.

I have files that have taken HOURS to simulate toolpaths. I know that progress bar stops moving and it looks like it is frozen, but it is still working on it. As I said, just wait longer.

I appreciate the info. Im kind of frustrated with it to be honest. I will set it and forget it for a while and see what shakes out.

I totally understand how frustrating it can be! I am fortunate to have other projects on the go, so I can click and walk away, and do something else.
