I have a simple geometry, wondering if there is a way to create specific boundaries in the model for the maching to mill. In my current model I have a simple valley to mill but the software will generate a toolpath to cut the valley and the perimeter of the stock as well. How can I specify to mill only the valley?
Can you share a photo?
The way i do it, which may not be perfect but it works, is to load the model into blender and add a simple plane or box to cover the area i dont want to carve. I make it about 1mm higher than the design and when loaded into easel I have it above the material height, which makes easel ignore it.
In Meshcam, you can dictate to only cut specific areas. If you are drawing your valley in a 3d application, you “might” be able to surround the valley with a shape that cuts to zero depth.
