I would really like the ability to choose where to start a carve from within the simulation.
Occasionally things awry, lost power, computer goes nuts, and i end up restarting a carve. I would love the ability to skip to a certain point in simulation.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks.
Yes, that absolutely makes sense, and it’s a fantastic suggestion! It’s a common frustration for anyone who has experienced interruptions during a lengthy simulation or carving process. Having the ability to resume from a specific point would save a significant amount of time and material.
While I don’t have the capability to directly implement this feature within any specific simulation software, I can definitely see the immense value it would provide.
I use Easel to design my carves and create the g-code,but I use UGS to carve the job.I have it set up to display the Source and Console windows, and select ‘follow the running gcode’, which is the fifth icon on the Source toolbar. If I have to stop the job, I can see the line number at which I stop, and I can write down the line number. I can then select Program, Run From, and enter a line to start from.
I actually use this feature quite a bit. UGS is free. Give it a try.
