On the marble one, did you carve the marble, the frame, or both?

If the marble, is it real marble? Did you have to run a coolant?

Its resin that i made to look like marble.:slightly_smiling_face:

Poured a mold full of white and swirled in some mica powder.

That’s truly brilliant, because the marble stripes are naturally running through and they fooled me. Really great job all around!

Thank you, much appreciated. I’ve had a few people ask how i carved marble . I was super pleased with how the marble pattern came through the carving. Just an idea i had, so i tried it and it seemed to work

So, how are you making the stl files?

I use blender, i’ve been learning to use it for a few months, mainly by doing a whole bunch of you tube tutorials.

HelloNick14: I’ve tried to do the 3D carving on my XCARVE1000 but I just can’t seem to get it to carve right.I tried but it only carved half of the faces.I’m not asking for a long drawn out explanation I just want to know if there is a common problem for this.Thank you,Beark

Without seeing the design and outcome of your carve its hard for me say what went wrong. It may just be a badly made file. If you share the project id be happy help if i can.

This is going to be an inlaid wood cutting board.

I sure wish I had the ability make a piece like that. I might some day when I can focus more time on this machine. That’s a very beautiful piece. Keep on keeping on
