need help I’m doing a cut out but every time it cuts out a piece that piece jams up the router.
Jams up the router as in the cut piece is coming loose and jamming the router? Are you using a dust collection? If you’re cutting all of the way through the material, are you using the Tabs feature?
As mentioned, use the tabs feature or use double sided tape to keep it in place.
I don’t like the tape because it gummy ups my bit. Instead I just watch carefully when it gets to the cut through cut and pause the operation once my cutout comes loose. I then remove it before finishing and starting the cut again.
I agree with you about getting the adhesive on the bit. I just rub it off with a pencil eraser. Another way to deal with it is to cut down and leave 1/32” of material and then cut it out with an xacto. A third approach I use is to not cut it through, but thickness sand it face down until you can see through the wood in the cut area and then pop it out and scrape the edges.
As mentioned, use the tabs when cutting thru the material. You also need to use the calipers and be sure the thickness of the material is set correctly. I had the same issue and found I hadn’t set the correct thickness, I cut thru the tabs.
