Each time you import an STL file the cut settings reset back to automatic - this is awful when you’ve dialed in the settings & just need to update the file slightly…

I create a folder and a notepad text file for every project I work on. I call it “_memo.txt” so that it is always at the top of the folder. I keep track of settings, including the file names of the g-code I create and the results of each. Material, bit, feed rate, depth per pass, how long it took, whatever is applicable to the job.
same - its still a nightmare when you miss one…
