I recently received my CNC and using Easel to operate becuase it had the smallest learning curve but I can’t figure this one issue out. I have a cut depth defined to .9 for the perimiter, workpiece thickness to .9. Cavity cut depth to .625 but on both, I get slightly less than .5 inches cut depth once the machine runs. I have probed XYZ with the tool probe. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Someone else may be able to chip in and help better, but there is a setting for the thickness of your z-probe that likely needs to be adjusted.
I do not use the probe. I use a piece of paper, and lower the Z until it touches the paper. I work in mm, so I get the bit down until I can’t really see space any more, and then switch to 0.1mm and move the z until I can’t pull the paper out. This is where I set my Z-zero, and I find it to be consistent and reliable, unlike the probe where you assume that it is right.
