Drag engraving with Cubiko

What is this discussion about in one brief sentence?

I just order some stuff today and am curious if anybody has done some drag engraving with a cubico. How about experience with their drag knife?
What bits and holder did you use? What engraves the nicest, brass, aluminum, acrylic or? Is one font better. Etc…

I always thought a drag knife was used to cut out thin sheet goods. I have never had the need to use one myself. If I wanted to do engraving, I’d get a really sharp V bit.

These are the v bits that I usually use but…

The smallest v-bit that I have found is a SpeTool CA W06009 SPE-X Extra Tool Life Coated Solid Carbide 30 Degree Engraving 0.005" Tip Width x 1/4" Shank x 2-1/4" Long Signmaking Router Bit. Has anybody used it and avoided very frequent pling sounds?

I have had some luck with 20 degree 0.1mm 1/8 vbits but I break several per session. The breaks usually happen about a half a mm (guessing estimate) up the blade.

I don’t remember the settings that I had used but I usually followed the quote “Fast speed slow feed” when engraving softened brass coupons.
Thanks for your opinions.

Do you lock the spindle so it does not move? How?! in GRBL?
Even using a .1mm bit, would not that would allow .2mm variation in the line width if the spindle was not locked?
