So far, I’ve been very happy with Easel Pro and have completed some simple projects successfully on a TwoTrees TTC450 Pro.
Now I’m trying to cut two more complex shapes from 1/2" OSB. Here’s a link to the file:
OSB_Shapes
I’ve been attempting this using a 3D STL file, with a roughing pass using a 6 mm flat end mill and a finishing pass using a 6 mm ballnose. However:
The roughing pass doesn’t reach into the gaps in the design (which are 6 mm wide).
The finishing pass takes a very long time, possibly more than is practical for this material and complexity.
Has anyone faced a similar situation in Easel Pro? Are there recommended settings (bit size, stepover, stepdown, etc.) or workflow adjustments that might help? Would it be better to split this into 2D and 3D operations instead of relying entirely on the 3D STL?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
