I upgraded from a Lunyee 3018 Pro Ultra to a Lunyee 4040. I just set up the 4040 this weekend.and am running test carves.
The machine stops carving at random percentages and does not rehome. It just stops. The Easel screen pops up like the carve finished and I have the choice of bad or good. If I choose bad, I get the message that something went wrong and I need to refresh my browser.
The USB is set to not disconnect. I checked and fixed all those settings. My internet is strong. The USB cable is securely connected and no where near my power supply.
My 3018 did this to me the last time used it a couple of weeks ago, but only once.
The 3018 and the 4040 are run by two different laptops. They have not been on at the same time.
I uninstalled the 3018 from my profile.
I rebooted the PC and the 4040 after every change. I made sure that I am on the latest Easel version. I removed and reinstalled the 4040 profile twice with a reboot each time.
The 4040 has a 500w spindle with a matching 500 watt power supply. I have not been able to complete any project all the way through since hooking this up.
I am leaning towards a software issue or setting as this happened once on my 3018 a couple of weeks ago before I even had the 4040.
I have been running the 3018 for a year now with no issues. I am ready to jump to another software, but I like the Easel interface and how I can use it to control the machine.
I did not - but I uninstalled my old machine and installed the new one. Wouldn’t that provide the correct settings for the new machine? And rebooted probably 10 times as well. I am not familiar with updating settings.
I can tell you that I moved the USB plug from one side of the computer to another to get it away from the control box and this seems to have helped.
Now the other issue that I have is when the machine finishes the roughing pass, I raise the spindle to put in the detail bit and lower it to zero it out on the project, the detail path is off just enough to screw up the project. My 3018 was always spot on.
Assuming your settings are correct here is what I’ve run into. HVAC kicking voltage drop and the machine quit, then there was the air compressor that was a voltage problem but was noise on the power line when it started. I install a line stabilizer and that fix both problems.
I will be adding a UPS before the stabilizer just for peace of mind.
Good Luck and happy carving.
p.s. There could be other equipment that can cause the same problem lime vacuums, stoves, any power equipment. This is due to not all electrical wiring being the same. What I mentioned above should fix the problem if it’s related to the power.
UPS = uninterruptible power supply
Voltage stabilizer (Line stablizer) =
A voltage stabilizer, also known as an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), It is an electrical device used to maintain a constant voltage level to protect electrical appliances from voltage fluctuations
I use a voltage stabilizer only because it was given to me. I actually have a UPS before it. With the UPS I really don’t need the VS.
