I fired up Easel just now to export a project I have been working on and a popup appears to add a CNC machine with a ‘Return to project’ option or a ‘Setup machine’ option which I don’t need or would like to bypass as my machine is not listed and In the settings window.
I have never seen this popup before. How can i just get the G-code out now?
So / Project / Download g-code is no longer a simple export.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Hey Jeff - Easel was requiring machine setup before allowing G-Code export. My Machine wasn’t recognised in the settings to bypass this step so I just added a fake machine.
Easel must have updated it’s browser version and wasn’t allowing G code export without first setting up machine type. I couldn’t bypass this setup step even though it said you could do a straight export. My Machine wasn’t in the setup process so i wouldn’t let me export.
I can help answer this. If your machine uses a GRBL-based controller, the machine setup process also involves testing the movement of the machine. In order to connect to the machine to your computer to control its movement, you must have the Easel driver installed.
Our team is working to address the feedback that the folks in this thread have shared to optimize the workflows around downloading G-code and creating machine profiles. Thank you to all the folks in this thread who have shared their questions and input with our team!
This is also causing me major problems!!
I go to use Easel and have a client waiting while I cut something. Software has completely changed, No chance to use the old version tillI can figure out the new settings. THIS IS BAD.
Franticly trying to get and output - I export geocode for se with my machine ( an old Zenbot which worked PERFECTLY with Easel before this update). The exported code file seems to have a strange offset scale or something. see pic. this never happened before!x/y zero is correct and work area is correct but cut is outside the area! I have had to cancel this job now while I waste time trying to fix!! elwire box lid.ngc (17.0 KB)
