Okay guys, just one more problem on top of the dozens of other problems with this project. After Easel has been changing settings intermittently, and I have rebooted both the machine AND computer multiple times, I am now stuck like a fish out of water.I cannot get the blue carve button to turn green(computer and machine not connecting.I have spent several hours now attempting to get a connection - no dice.
The only indication of a problem is that I get a popup stating that the USP device is not recognized by Windows? Does anyone know what this means, and how to fix it?
Thanks
I don’t know if this is any answer but I couldn’t connect to my laptop. I tried the usual tricks.I swapped out my other x controller( I have 2) and everything worked. A month or so later I decided to try it again, but this time I checked the emergency stop button. It had gotten depressed somehow. I pulled it up…and it worked…so between checking com ports,I will always check the stop button now.
Windows can be finicky about how it shares resources, especially through USB. Not to get into technical terms too much, but USB often shares IRQs, and an interruption of such sorts can cause miscommunication or disconnect. It is also possible that a simple reboot won’t fix the problem, because power has not been alleviated completely, so the connection or lack thereof does not change.
Try unplugging the USB cable from the computer, and then do a cold-boot - meaning turn the power right off for at least 30 seconds to clear any residual connection, let the computer boot into Windows, and then plug the USB back in. It should recognize your USB device then.
