Settings and material - magic?

Before I go down too far in this rabbit hole - Is there any magic going on behind the scenes as far as speeds or and feeds go? How about any other hidden settings that might occur if I switch material type from one to another such as from 2-colour Acrylic to aluminum and use manual settings

My old laptop shows much more contrast and detail if I set material type to a different types while in design screen.

It would be nice to eliminate a few double and triple checks that I am currently doing.

Ron you look as though you’re on the right lines - I’m NOT a technician - I’m a designer - used to teach it. So my suggestions are that you (having sorted out your technical issues) experiment with changing the size of the six - larger or smaller, maybe separate out the Double and the R (possible tool at changing the font?) - double going on the left hand wall. R enlarged and going middle of the top wall, enlarge the 6 and make it diagonal to fill up the remaining space. Anyone can make the sign, but to make it stand out some imagination/experimentation is required (not criticising what you’ve done) but I suspect the design could change quite a lot once you start experimenting - THERE ARE NO RIGHT OR WRONG answers - whatever works best. Enjoy your work !

Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate feed back. My current cutter selection is driving the designs as I am using a 15 degree 0.5 mm diameter V bit plunging 50” thou deep at a very conservative plunge rate.

I am cautious of the hidden settings with Easel such as corner accelerations. The coloured acrylic bars that I am supplied with all seem to react differently so there is no substitution for trial/ error with best guesses for different colours. The faces are 0.73”.

As time and ability allows I will make changes in GRBL to tweek performance.

I would like to hear what others use for cutters, speeds, feeds, etc.
