I downloaded the first SVG, and it’s completely empty/blank. There’s nothing in it except the outer nodes that describe the size.

However you exported it, make sure you are exporting an object. I know that Illustrator (what I use) can be weird about modifying something already selected for export. Sometimes the exported item is empty.
